EGL Asia reaches agreement with Chinese lab

Shanghai, China--Hong Kong-headquartered EGL Asia and NGGC, the state-owned Chinese diamond grading laboratory, have reached an agreement that gives customers a two-for-one deal on grading certificates.

According to a press release issued this week, the exclusive agreement allows customers to receive grading certificates from both labs but pay only for the EGL certificate.

The agreement, finalized in Shanghai, China, on Tuesday, is the first of its kind, making EGL Asia the only diamond grading laboratory to have an agreement like this with the NGGC, the release states.

"We are immensely proud about what we achieved here today," EGL Asia Chief Executive Officer Joseph Kuzi said in the release. "Not only does it indicate the degree to which our grading integrity is appreciated and respected by NGGC, but it also shows our continuing commitment to provide better service to our customers."
