Antiquorum names Maron as chairman

Geneva—Antiquorum has announced the appointment of Robert Maron as its new chairman.

A veteran watch dealer, Maron stands at the helm of Robert Maron Inc. and became one of the first dealers to sell luxury watches online through his own Web site, RobertMaron.com.

Over the years, he has solidified his reputation as a worldwide authority on and market maker for important modern and vintage wristwatches.

According to a media release, Maron will build upon Antiquorum's impressive history and industry leadership by applying a focus on technology, unparalleled horological expertise and customer satisfaction.

Maron will also bring with him the experienced and highly qualified group from Robert Maron Inc.

Antiquorum has three auctions planned for the end of the year. An Oct. 16 auction in New York is poised to be the best watch auction ever conducted in the United States, the auction house said in the release. In addition to an extraordinary collection of timepieces, a superb example of a Patek Philippe, Ref. 2499, "First Series" chronograph and perpetual calendar watch will be on display.

Additional auctions will take place in Geneva on Nov. 15, and in New York on Dec. 10.
